Q.Will Bush Roots That Have Been Dug Up Regrow If Buried In The Ground|?

Zone Chew Valley, Bristol | Anonymous added on June 8, 2023 | Answered

We have cleared a large area that was all bushes, bramble and small trees to build a dry stone wall, the earth that was left, including all the roots are to be put behind the wall. Will the roots regrow as we were going to turf over them

Some probably will. Are you in an area where you can burn the debris? If not, leaving them in the sun for a week or two should dry them out and kill the roots. If you can shred them a bit before burying, they will decompose quicker.
