Q.Will a vole damage a fig sapling?

Zone London | robb1e74 added on August 3, 2018 | Answered

Hello, I have a newly established fig tree sapling (3cm trunk) in the garden which now has a small hole (3cm diameter) beneath which I assume has been dug by a mouse or vole. Is it likely that the animal will harm the tree or can I just let it be?

Thank you

Yes voles and other rodents can damage the tree. It's best to control them.
