Q.Will a Chaste Tree grow in a large planter/container?

We live in Northern California in area with hot summers and occasional freezes in winter. The soil in our yard is poor and I’d like to plant a Chaste Tree in a large container for privacy and color. Will it grow in these circumstances

Chaste tree, Vitex will grow in San Anselmo but will likely suffer frost die-back in winter and grow back in spring. If you want dependable year round foliage, choose some other plant.

Check with Sloat Garden Center in Kentfield or your favorite local nursery for details and a good planting soil for your container, like this:
