Q.Wildflowers

Anonymous added on June 27, 2015 | Answered

I planted 2 large bags of wildflower seeds in an area that we completely removed the sod and dug down to rich soil. The flowers started coming up but now there is so much grass it looks like part of our lawn with edging. Should I dig the area up and replant or wait?

You may want to hand pull as much as you can while it is still relatively young. You can also spot treat the grassy areas with boiling water to kill it but be careful not to come into contact with your flowers as it will kill them too. Also, if there is enough room around your plants, lay some moist newspaper down and cover this with a layer of mulch. This will keep the grass and other weed plants from growing in that area.
