Wild rose- How do I stop it growing back

I have cut back a wild thorny rose, which is just outside my fence. I do not want it to grow back. Can I poison it so it does not grow back?

If you cut it back as close to the ground as you can and paint the cut ends with some RoundUp, using a paint brush. Do it a couple times at least. It might work to shut it down. If you can get to it good enough, you can also dig way down and remove as much of it as you can. Leave the hold open for a while to allow the roots exposed but not dug out to dry out before refilling the hole.
