Many plants, like ornamental grasses, fade at the end of the growing season. Other possibilities are overwatering, underwatering, or not enough drainage. If it is due to a fungus, there would be brown spots on the leaves as well. A nutrient deficiency also can cause yellowing leaves. I don't think it is chlorosis since the whole leaf is yellow (in chlorosis, the veins would be green). Since these are potted plants, I suspect poor drainage. If the plants are still alive, you can repot into fresh soil, cutting off any mushy roots and making sure the pot has plenty of drainage holes. Here is more:
