Why Newly Planted 10′ Fishtail Palm Leaves Turn Yellow?

Fishtail palm came from nursery and had to be dug up. This palm is about 10′ tall. The nursery kept the tree for a week before I moved it to the new location. It has been about three days since I planted it. It is in the ground with about two inches of the roots showing above the ground. I have a moat around the roots. Water it twice a day filling up the moat and letting it soak in.

Also, you say you water daily and have a moat-like bowl around the tree. This can actually cause water to sit in the area resulting in root rot or other fungal problems. I would first suggest that you mound some soil up around the tree so the water isn’t just pooling up around it.
