Q.Why Isn’t Newly Planed Crepe Mytle Thriving

plant in July and shows very little signs of thriving. leaves brown/red. Fertilized and watered.

It is probably ok. Now, at the end of the growing season and with reduced direct sunlight every day, is not a time when I observe much growth. CMs are busy either finishing blooming and developing seeds instead. Much of the growth happens in the spring here in Texas.
