Why Is Some Of My Black Eyed Susan Flowers Not Black In Centre

The plants are from seeds dropped and grown from previous plant Many seedlings have emerged and I just let them grow but not the orange flowers have a black centre??

Even though they are called Black-eyed Susans, the center is brown to dark brown. There is also a brown-eyed Susan, but it is taller and blooms later in the season.
