Crepe Mytle Branches Falling

Our Crepe Mytle tree is about 8 to 9 feet high. I can’t remember how old it is, but an older tree. In the last couple of years, we notice that the tips of branches are falling off the tree. Why is this and is our tree ok?

There are two possibilities. One is tip blight, which is caused by a fungus and can be treated with a fungicide. The other is thrips, which also can attack the new growth and can be treated with a pesticide. I personally like to use neem oil because it is both a fungicide and a pesticide, so you can treat for both at the same time.
