why is my zoysia lawn browning out

My lawn gets 25 minutes of water 4 times per week, but some of the areas in my lawn are browning out. It has been fertilized but, unfortunately, at the hottest week of this summer. I see that the brown areas are spreading. What should we do? I live in St. Louis, Missouri.
