Q.Why Is Bark Splitting!?

Zone Lubbock, Texas 79423 | Cheryl40 added on July 3, 2023 | Answered

Tree looks fine but bark is splitting and can see the tree inside. Other trees don’t have splits all leaves are still healthy. No bugs that are seen.

It looks like some damage was done to the inside by a fungus in the past. If you spot any fruiting bodies on the tree, we can identify what it is, exactly.
