Q.Why haven’t my burning bushes turned red

Zone Southern Ohio | SarahGundrum added on October 27, 2015 | Answered

I planted the shrubs last November. They have yet to show the red color that I love them for. Can you tell me reasons why they have not changed color?

There can be a few reasons but generally it is environmental.

Burning Bushes need lots of full sun for brightly colored foliage.

Some varieties of Burning Bush change color right before they go dormant.

The colors can vary from burgundy to bright red and it may vary from season to season.
