Q.Why Has My Dicksonian Fern Got A Spongy Crown

it has ferns but the crown is wet and spongy to the touch. what can i do to treat it

Make sure the fern is not being over watered. It should be evenly moist but not saturated. Water from below and not above the foliage.

Also check for insects such as scale. They can be treated with Neem oil or horticultural oil.
