Q.Why Don’t My Pepper Plants Produce Peppers?

Zone 4 | melman114 added on July 25, 2011 | Answered

We have planted pepper plants in the garden, different varieties, and for some reason they don’t do well. Do they need a magic ingredient for producing or what? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I would recommend you get a soil test. There are kits you can use or you can get a kit from your local extension office, the state lab does the test for a nominal fee and it will give you a good idea of what amendments you may need to add to your garden to get good results. Peppers also need lots of sun, you don't mention if location is a factor. This article may be also be helpful:
