Q.Why Doesn’t My Lilac Bush Have Any Leaves in the Middle of the Bush?

Frustrated added on June 28, 2011 | Answered

My lilac bush is fairly full at outer edges and top, but there are no leaves in center of the bush. I think it is not appealing to the eye this way. Please help I want a little fuller bush!

This happens when light has a hard time getting into the middle of the bush. Pruning for better light penetration and air flow will help. This article will help:
