why doesn’t my honeysuckle plant smell?

I have had my honeysuckle plant for six years and it blooms but does not smell – when the company claims it does.

Do you know the plant variety you are growing? There are some varieties that have little or no fragrance. Environmental factors can also effect the fragrance gives off. Proper growing conditions, plant age and size may play a part also.
