Why Does My Turmeric Have Round Bulbs Sort Of Like A Water Shoot Is The Best I Can Explain It

I get the mother root at the base of the leaves (once died off) and some good looking turmeric off that and then some roots go deeper and have round tubers on them.

Those are basically pups. They will sprout their own plants if you separate them and plant them.
