Q.Why Does My Maranta Plant Just Bump Out New Small Leaves?
I’ve got a real healthy maranta plant in my office with East-facing window, it even bloomed regularly. Then I moved it to my apartment, put it next to a West-facing window (avoiding direct sunlight). I noticed that it might overgrow the pot (root came out of the drainage hole, small leaves…) so I repot it in a terracotta pot. But it hasn’t seem to do well. Although it releases new leaves often, they are all really small and curling with brown tip already and the old leaves just turn yellow. I’ve moved the plant next to the sink (with small water containers around & pebble tray under the pot) for more humidity and brighter indirect light (from the same West-facing window), water it with rested tap water every 4-5 days, put in slow release fertilizer. But I haven’t seen any good news. Can you help me? I can’t find anyone with same situation on the internet 🙁 Thank you very much <3

unfortunately, your photo did not come through. I cannot see the damage to assess it. Based on your description of how things unfolded- it would seem that a little too much care is the problem.
Repotting is usually not necessary, as they are very adapted to staying cramped up. Damaging roots will start the process. After, overwatering , or the root area remaining to wet for too long sets the stage for infection. Once an infection takes hold, it multiplies.
It is best to provide the proper conditions to avoid problems. These articles will help you to know what they need, and how to correct issues as they arise:
