Why does my fig tree produce so much fruit?

I am concerned about the amount of fruit my produces. It starts to produce fruit before leaves are even visible. This first batch of figs eventually falls off. After the leaves have grown to around half size, a new batch of figs appears. Sometimes as many as 8 figs appear at the base of each leaf. This fruit is, of course, not edible. It is dry and sometimes hollow. My tree produces fruit around 3 times a year. Out of the thousands of fruit my tree produces, I would guess that only 20 figs are actually edible. I have never seen anything like this. Can someone tell me what’s going on with this fig tree? I’ve lived at this house for 5 years and it seems to get worse every year. There are literally hundreds of hard hollow green figs scattered on my ground on an annual basis. The picture I included is a picture I took tonight.

First make sure the Fig tree is receiving the proper sunlight, full day sunlight is needed.
Pruning is important, along with fertilizing.
Here are links for you for refresh you on the care requirements.

The common fig bears a first crop called the breba crop. The second crop is borne in the fall on the new growth and is the main crop.

I believe you are also having pollination issues with your fig tree.
