Q.Why Do The Leaves On My Potted Brown Turkey Fig Tree Look Shiny?
I just got the tree recently. It is 24 inches tall and I am keeping it indoors until the weather gets warmer. I live in Western New York. They are not yellow but shiny.

I am suspicious of aphids or scale insects. They excrete honeydew that could make the leaves shiny. The leaves may even drip the fluid. Check for a sticky substance on the table under the plant. The whitish areas on one leaf could be residue from mealybugs, a type of scale insect.
