Why do the immature peaches on my tree have a drop of fluid on the skin?

Many of the immature peaches on my tree have a drop of clear fluid on the skin, usually away from the stem end. Is that insect damage? Will it seriously damage the fruit? What is the best course to follow? This is the first year that my tree (about 3 years old) has bore fruit.

Clear sap is normally a sign of peach borers, which can also affect the fruits as well as the tree itself. This article should help:
