Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comStarted a raised bed on Aug 15th. Top soil was bought from a garden center. Seedlings started very well. Planted beets radish carrots kohlorabi lettuce and spinach. The best germination ever in a few days. Was picking lettuce and spinach until Thanksgiving with the use of a cover during cold spells. The beets and kohlorabis never produced any bulbs only gorgeous leaves. I harvested great carrots for Thanksgiving. Any reason they wouldn’t produce bulbs?

This will be caused by a lack of phosphorus in the soil, usually. It can be caused by an excess of nitrogen in the soil, or also from too low of a pH.
