Q.Why Are You Promoting Porcelain Berry? It Is A Major Invasive Exotic That Are Overwhelming Our Forests

Zone Charlottesville, Va | Kennon7 added on May 21, 2023 | Answered

Hello, I am a licensed landscape architect and work in many states . Please do not promote porcelain berry on your website anymore and warn people against planting it. It is a very serious invasive exotic plant that is overwhelming our native forest and gardens in the south and cental east region. Please care about nature and be responsible and do not promote invasive exotic plants like this. Invasive exotic plants are having huge environmental and economic impacts and helping to lead to the extinction of many native species. Thank you.

We help people from around the world, and many plants will become invasive given the correct environment. It is up to each individual to research the plant that they intend to plant before planting so that they do not introduce something that is invasive to the area in which they reside. Otherwise, we would not have much information to offer, since most plants can have the capacity to become invasive, given the proper area. Be sure to research any plant before planting to ensure that it is not invasive in your area, as mentioned at the end of the article.
