Why are the peaches on our tree seeping sap then falling off?

We planted our peach tree this year. It’s about 5′ tall. . . a young tree, not a regular type tree. It had blooms just starting to bloom when we brought it home. It filled out really well and has had peaches but the peaches started seeping what looked like a sap and would then fall off. What would cause this and is there anything we can do to stop it?

This is a sign of peach borers. You may find oozing coming from both the tree as well as the fruit. This article will help:
