Why Are The New Leaves On My Red Prayer Plant Not Looking Like The Original Ones?

I potted a red prayer plant in with a green one. Since then none of the new leaves on the red plant have the characteristic markings of the original plant. There is some faint red veining, but the leaves are small and actually similar to the green plant’s leaves.

It could be too much competition for water and nutrients. They have specific requirements for moisture and light. That could account for small, faded new leaves. Here is more:
