Q.why are the leaves of my magnolia tree brown

The leaves on my magnolia tree are 90% brown but not falling off. Is this normal?

Brown leaves in spring on your Magnolia most likely is caused by frost damage.
Is this an established tree? It should recover and show signs of new growth.
