Why Are The Deer Eating The Crepe Myrtle Flowers?

The deer are eating all of the flowers from my newly planted trees. My understanding was that deer did not like Crepe Myrtle. They are not eating any of the trees in my neighborhood.

Deer will eat ANYTHING when food is lacking in their area. Even things labeled as "deer resistant" can be a snack to deer, unfortunately.
