Q.Why Are The Buds On My Magnolia Black And Falling Off Before They Open

I had a few early flowers in spring but now all the buds are black and on the ground although the leaves look healthy, I have had this plant for ay least 5 years and it has never done this before, please can you help

Nonblooming buds can be attributed to late frosts, thrips, or lack of sun.
