Why are patches of my bushes turning brown and shriveling up?

Hi. I have 4 beautiful decorative bushes that have been in our garden for decades. Toward the end of last summer I noticed a small brown patch on one, where leaves seems to turn brown, curl up and die. It has now spread to all 4 bushes and large patches. What can I do to save the plants? Please help. Thank you in advance.

There appears to be a leaf spot disease of some sort. There are many of these, some are fungal, others bacterial. I suggest you call your local cooperative extension office and take a sample to them. Here is how to find your county’s extension office: Search.Extenson.org
