Q.Why Are New Leaves Of My Redbud Turning Black And Dying?

Zone 64079 | Anonymous added on July 11, 2023 | Answered

I have a cute little volunteer redbud in the corner of my yard. It is currently about 3 ft tall. Up until a few weeks ago it was doing very well, no leaf discoloration and very vigorous growth. There is evidence of Leaf Cutter activity. A few weeks ago I started to notice that the new leaves were starting to turn black. The condition has steadily gotten worse the mainly just around the new growth on the ends of all the branches. Any assistance in identifying the problem would be greatly appreciated.
