why are my pickerel rush leaves turning brown

I recently planted pickerel rush in my pond and the leaves are coming up curly and brown/dead. Thank you.

Is the plant still in it’s pot? It is a semi aquatic plant that should remain in the pot and then submerged.
Do you have any chemicals in the pond that may be unsafe for plants?
From experience not all pond chemicals are safe for aquatic plants and can cause leaf damage and plant loss.

If you do lose your plant, most garden centers will replace a plant loss.
