Q.why are my impatiens suddenly dying?

Well watered, fertilized with Miracle Grow. Impatiens have grown in same location every year with no issues. There seems to be rotting at the base of the plant.

Sounds like either a fungal issue or rot, likely associated by too much moisture. This article may help with pinpointing the issue: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/impatiens/impatiens-problems.htm
