Q.why are my cucumbers dying?
Ok, so this is my first garden. I have been watering it regularly. With the heat and lack of rain, I water each section in the evening for about 30 to 45 minutes. I had a soaker hose but everyone has split on me. On especially hot days, I will go out with the hose and soak the ground to cool off the roots. My cucumbers were doing so well that they left their trellis and started smothering the rest of my garden. So as gently as I could, I moved the vines and tried to retrain them to their trellis. Yet, every vine I have moved has died within a few days of me moving it. I don’t understand. I have now lost half of my cucumber crop! What can I do to help it and why do they die after being moved?
It is best to not disturb the vines as you may have experienced.
