Q.Why Are My Coral Bells, After Coming Up Nicely This Spring, Breaking Off At Ground Level(the Entire Plant)?
In Pennsylvania. Coral bells were planted last year. Came back up nicely. Noticed they were not getting more robust. Touched plant and it came right up off the ground as if roots had disappeared. Leaves were not wilted and had new growth. Another one is doing same. I tried to include photo but I do not think it worked.

It could be root rot due to overwatering or soil that does not drain well. I also see tiny galls on some of the roots that could be caused by nematodes. Here is more:
