leaves falling off my fig tree

Why are leaves falling off my fig tree in June instead of Sept.? The tree is loaded with figs. Could they have gotten too much water? It rained a lot in June. I have a fig tree that produces a large green fig in August, and the leaves are falling now in June and they don’t usually fall until Sept.

Heavy rains certainly may be the cause of the leaf drop.
If these are in pots make sure they can drain properly.
Keep an eye out for insect or disease the damp conditions can invite these issues.
