Why And Or What Pest Is Causing Small Shallow Holes In Garden Area?

There are small shallow holes in my garden area? Are these pests or is there some disease causing this. I’m in the Mohave desert, Kingman AZ 8B.

Unfortunately, there could be many things causing the holes in your lawn. Insects, rodents, and other mammals can dig holes to find roots and grubs under the soil.
