Q.White Powder on Hibiscus Branches

Anonymous added on July 12, 2011 | Answered

Have a Hibiscus plant outside that has been great and producing good orange flowers until recently. Fertilize it monthly with Miracle Grow. Noticed a white power substance on flowers and branches. Flowers are small. Blasted off white power with hose. Flowers look better but white powder re-occurs. What is white powder? And what should I do?

The white powder you mention sounds like powdery mildew. Neem oil can help with this fungal issue. Here are some articles that you may find helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/disease/powdery-mildew-homemade-and-organic-remedies.htm
