White Gardenia/Budding

I purchased a Gardenia last May, transplanted it to a larger container (with plenty of drainage) and planted it outdoors. It bloomed great right into fall. I brought it indoors before any frost and placed it in a southern exposure for the winter. It is putting out new growth evenly over the entire plant and it really looks good and healthy. I have fed it twice in the last month with Muracid. My question is, when do the new buds appear? I live in southeast Michigan. We have been having an unusually early and warm spring and I have been putting it outside on warm, sunny days. This is my first Gardenia, so everything is new to me and no family or friends have ever had one, so I have no advice.

It is hard to say in your area, as it is not their native habitat, but you should definitely see buds by the beginning of summer. In warmer climates, you would see them about now, but it also would have been warmer for a longer period of time already.
