Which type of plant to use

Question

We live in northern europe and are looking for a wind and winter hardy plant that will also provide some privacy. The summer can get full sun all day long…. Any ideas? We would plant them in large wooden planters about 2.5 meters by 80CM and about 40 CM high.

I am not familiar with your area, as we are based out of the US, but if you can tell me what your lowest and highest temperatures are, then I will be more than glad to help you.
