Most perennials have a short bloom period but some flower almost all summer, especially if you deadhead the spent blooms. Here are some of my favorites:

butterfly weed (asclepias tuberosa)
purple coneflower, deadhead
Tall verbena (Verbena bonariensis)
'Moonbeam' coreopsis
Stella de Oro daylily (deadhead)
Perennial lantana
Trumpet honeysuckle, coral vine
Butterfly bush (Budleia)
