Which Is The Best Compost For Eryngium (sea Holly) In A Pot

I have already tried with an ordinary compost and I think I overwatered it. Obviously don’t want this happening again. Therefore I would like your advice please.

Sea holly is susceptible to root rot and needs a well, draining, dry soil. Even poor soil, so be sure not to over fertilize. When you say compost, I think of soil amendments such as aged manure or mushroom compost, for example. I think you are referring to potting soil, though.

You can plant it in a well-draining potting soil, such as one for cacti and succulents, that is low on nutrients. If you can find one with sand as a component, that is ideal. Or you can just add some sand or perlite to increase its draining ability. Here is more:
