When/If to remove seeds from spent lupines

My one clump of lupines was beautiful this year. Now they look pretty straggly. Should I remove the spent flowers now if I don’t want to save the seeds or wait till they turn dry and brown and remove the seed and then cut the dried out flowers down?

Thank you very much.

If you are not going to collect the seeds then go ahead and remove spent flowers and seed heads. If you allow the seeds to develop the plant will put energy into this that could be used for new root, foliage and flower development.
