When Will a Softwood Propagated Crape Myrtle Bloom?

I have looked everywhere, but nothing tells me how to care for a newly propagated softwood cutting of a Crape Myrtle. How long before it blooms? Should I prune the long new branches to encourage more branches? I propagated several and they are about a year old, but now what?

Cuttings may not bloom until their second year. Plant new trees in fall in areas receiving full sun and moist, well-draining soil. Their care is the same as for any other crape myrtle. Do not prune. The plants will branch out on their own.
