When To Start Dong Gua (winter Melon) Seeds Indoors For Spring Planting?

I have some seeds of dong gua and I wanted to start them indoors for outside planting in the spring. I first soaked them for 12 hours and then put them in the soil about 3 weeks ago. They are germinating? The seeds no good or too early. Thank you.

Try nicking or abrading the seeds rather than soaking them. I'm also including a way to test the viability of your seeds.
