Q.When to prune burning bush

Zone Louisville, KY | sherleys added on March 12, 2015 | Answered

I want to reduce the size of several burning bushes. They are approximately 5 ft tall and 4 ft in diameter. There appears to be buds ready to sprout. Is it too late to prune now? I am in Louisville, KY.

It is recommended to prune burning bushes while it is dormant, either in late winter or very early spring. It sounds like your burning bush is coming out of dormancy so I would make haste on pruning.
