When to cut back Sweetspire??

I have a white Sweetspire in my shadier part of my yard and when do cut it back?? Does it bloom on new or old wood?? It is now mid September where I am now…is it too late to cut it back now??Thank you in advance for your help!

They bloom on old wood, so it is too late to prune now. Wait till after it flowers in spring.
