When starting seeds indoors, what is the process of properly planting them in the ground outside?

I would like to start seeds indoors. Specifically plants that are not as common (Jimmy Nardello, Serrano, Pimento and oxheart and Tommy Toe tomatoes). What is the process to properly ensure seeds are transplanted from indoors to outdoors.
