Rubber trees are only hardy to 30 degrees F. and since you live in MN, I am assuming you would be growing it in a container as it should not be planted outside. This article is about repotting, but the steps would be essentially the same: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/hpgen/learn-more-about-repotting-houseplants.htm

For more information on rubber tree care, these articles will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/rubber-tree/how-to-care-for-a-rubber-tree-plant.htm
