when do figs ripen?

I have a fig tree that is two years old it was started from a cutting. the tree has tripled in size since I uncovered it in late winter, I water it maybe 3 times a week plus we had an auful lot of rain this Spring and Summer. I also fertilize it with an organic fruit tree fertilizer.I live in Eastern Pa. about 50 miles North of Phila. My question is this tree has a lot of figs on it, but they have not increased in size in the past two months will they increase in size and ripen, I sure hope so.
Thank You, Bob Mohr

Figs are considered ripe when the necks wither, and the fruit starts to hang downward. They will not ripen further once they are picked from the tree. Here is a link that will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/figs/how-to-harvest-figs.htm [1]
